I'm sorry I've aroused your ire by pointing out this distinction which is
painful to many Gay people -- whether they are interesting in being married
or not.

I can only say "thank you" for your position on Gay marriage.

I must agree with this feeling.  From a WIDE variety of groups.

And while I do feel free to express this feeling -- as vocally as you do --
I have some difficulty in coming up with a delineating criteria for what is
"smug self-righteous" and what is not.
