Replying to a message of Cindy Haglund to Richard Webb: CH> No offense to your vet but I wonder if she had had a bad experience CH> with a dog choking on a bone. I'd be leery too. But then I'd just be CH> more careful about what kind of bone and to what size dog etc. :) Last year I picked up a bag of marrow bones for the dogs. One of my labs managed to get one caught around her lower jaw. She couldn't eat or drink or get the thing off. I tried to work it off and couldn't, so off to the vet. He had to knock her out and then cut the bone to get it off. Apparently the dog's jaw had swelled slightly, just enough to prevent the bone from coming off. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 53/558 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 SEEN-BY: 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
