Hello George, >LL>The majority of terrorism is done by Muslims attempting to impose a >LL>particular version of Islam on other Muslims... GP>Which just shows to go ya, that it IS a fundamental part of their culture! Muslims would self-destruct if left to their own devices. >LL>The Jews do not have an exclusive claim to all of the land of Palestine. >LL>The Jews do not even have an exclusive claim to part of the land of >LL>Palestine. The Jews do have a legitimate claim to some of the land of >LL>Palestine. But even that claim, as noted in the Bible, is a shared >LL>claim. GP>Where's this Biblical note about sharing the land? Torah. GP>There was land they were not to even set foot into, and the land of GP>"Palestine-Israel" doesn't include any of it! (this is Iran, Iraq, etc., the GP>lands promised to the sons of Ishmael) Moses was shown "the promised land", but was forbidden from entering. >LL>Every war in the Middle East since the partition of Palestine has been >LL>started by the Jews. GP>What a load of crap! At Camp David 2000 Israel offered Arafat EVERYTHING he GP>had EVER asked for, and the ONLY concession was that he agree that Jews have GP>right to existence! He walked out and refused to consider the offer! Everything except the Moon. That was Barak's mistake. He had to give Arafat the Moon. Remember the crescent on the flag... >LL>Israel might be able to save itself as a nation if it agrees to a >LL>peaceful settlement with the Palestinians. And that means returning >LL>all of the Gaza Strip and West Bank to the Palestinians, pulling out >LL>all illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and also returning >LL>all of the Golan Heights to Syria. The longer Israel waits, the >LL>worse deal it will get. GP>You forget that Israel long ago did all of this, then the Arabs banded toget GP>in an attempt to finish the genocide that Hitler started, and, IN DEFENSE, GP>Israel expanded their territory to include a military buffer zone from prove GP>enemies. The West Bank is not recognized as being Israeli territory. The Gaza Strip is not recognized as being Israeli territory. The Golan Heights is not recognized as being Israeli territory. The city of Jerusalem is not recognized as being Israeli territory. Not by any government on Earth, with the exception of Israel. That is why governments around the world (including the U.S.) refer to the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Golan Heights as occupied territories. Well, maybe not Gaza Strip anymore, now that Sharon has returned the Gaza Strip to its rightful owner. To his credit, Sharon did return the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians. And had it not been for his unfortunate illness, he would have begun withdrawing Israelis from those illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Sharon knew the best way to protect Israel was to have secure borders. After all, Sharon is a military man, and views things from a military perspective. Protecting 8000 Israelis who controlled one third of the Gaza Strip was indefensible, as well as very costly. Sharon knew that. Protecting a few hundred thousand Israelis in the West Bank is indefensible, as well as very costly. Sharon knew that. Better to pull out, have more defensible borders, and save a ton of dough. Ditto with the Golan Heights. It will be interesting to see how the future prime minister (new elections are scheduled to take place in March) continues the peace process. As for the Golan Heights, former prime minister Barak came within 100 yards of reaching an agreement with Syria. However, once the Palestinian issue has been resolved, Syria will quickly come to terms. GP>Tough shit to those who banded together after they agreed to the partitionin GP>percentages, to take away even the 11% that Israel was allowed, of a land th GP>was for thousands of years 100% theirs! Neither the Israelis nor the Palestinians agreed to the U.N. partition of 1947. Both sides rejected it. And the status of Jerusalem has never been determined, given it was never part of the U.N. partition plan at all. As such, Jerusalem belongs to the original inhabitants (Jew, Muslim, Christian), and not to the Israelis. --Lee * SLMR 2.1a * Forget Iraq!
