Replying to a message of Mike Roberts to Bob Ackley: MR> It must be nice for Your little guy to have backup in that 110 pound MR> lab ;-) That 'little guy' weighs about 35 pounds - and she can d*mn near catch a fleeing rabbit, that dog is quick. Understand that I live on a rural acreage and have *ten* dogs (all neutered). Buddy is biggest at about 110 pounds, but Sam and Brownie are both very nearly that big and the rest of them all weigh between 50 and 65 pounds. MR> I have two pugs, and somebody forgot to tell them they are little MR> dogs. It's funny to watch them go around the yard. Kind of stride MR> for stride, We call it "Pug Patrol" as we watch them circle the MR> whole back Yard in search of intruders. MR> You also remind me, I may have told it here before, but it was a long MR> time if so. I had a black lab. It was an early winter morning still MR> dark and I let her out the back door. I watched her. she lazily MR> walked out, looking at me she turned around and there was a little MR> cotton tail. The dog jumped a foot in the air and ran so fast MR> across the yard. It was hilarious to see a little bunny scare the MR> heck out of an unsuspecting lab. Guess she would not have made a MR> good hunting dog huh? Reminds me that yesterday morning the 3 dogs I keep separate from the others (they're not 'family') found a good sized snake on the front lawn. About 4 feet long and 1.5 inches in diameter, weighed about 5 pounds. Not sure what kind but definitely not a garter snake. Got the dogs inside and then picked the snake up and moved it to my 'wilderness' area. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 53/558 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 222/2 SEEN-BY: 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 200 5030/1256 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
