His Press Secretary? al-Zawahiri? US-DoD? It might be like the Punch
& Judy show I saw last week - I saw the puppeteer enter the tent,
and the kids saw Punch appear, and a few other characters.

The earlier letter from al-Zawahiri to al-Zarqawi may be real, or
may be fake. Whoever wrote it lost the plot, and asked al-Zarqawi
to send greetings to al-Zarqawi.

Al Qaeda Leader's Letter Questions Zarqawi Tactics

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17, 2005 - A letter from al Qaeda's second-in-command 
Ayman al-Zawahiri, intended for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al Qaeda 
terrorist leader in Iraq, chided Zarqawi for some of his tactics.

The letter, intercepted before it reached Zarqawi, listed incremental 
jihadist goals. The first is to "expel the Americans from Iraq."

U.S. intelligence authorities have the "highest confidence" in the 
authenticity of the letter, which they say was intercepted during a 
counterintelligence operation in Iraq.

A search on "al-Zarqawi" in google news suggests that the letter
is a fake, and questions the existence of al-Zarqawi ... as you do.

This is interesting - the USA is lambasting Iran and Syria for allowing
insurgents to cross into Iraq, yet apparently is unable to stop car
thieves -in the USA- from stealing cars to ship to Iraq for use in
car bombings. Gets sillier by the minute.

Of course, and two years ago, they caught the Ace of Spades, supposedly
in a hole that would require a member of Cirque du Soliel to contort
into, and aren't in too much of a hurry to try him. Live men do tell
tales.

One day, Bush and his minders may realise that what is at stake is a
bit more than his approval ratings.

Remember, the aims of the Bush administration and al-Qaeda overlap, even
if they are not identical. Whichever horse wins the race is irrelevant,
if you have a bet each way - Bush wants noahide laws, al-Q wants sharia
laws - noahide laws do not contradict sharia laws, according to 
"Consider Islam" (Islam-Australia) ...
