SW> BG> Its a Holder 12, about 12 feet long. Big enough for me and not
SW> BG> much else. 3/4 as much fun as a Laser for 1/4 the price.
SW>
SW> Also known as a Hobie One, same specs. Yes, they're great fun. We race
them
SW> in a lake here in Memphis. We can usually cram many races into a short
time.
SW> It's a great boat for sharpening tactical skills, and it's more forgiving
than
SW> the Laser!
I've only sailed a Laser once, and that for just a few minutes. Not
enough to really get a feel for it. There are almost no Holder 12
owners around here. In all the time I've been sailing it, I have seen
two others. There are persistant rumors that some areas have fleets of
them ....
I'm not a racer. The rules are too complicated and the egos too
large. For me, sailing is fun and fitness. Let the other guys fight
over trophies.
Does Hobie even still make the Holder boats? I bought mine 11 years
ago (sail number 790).
