Bill,
   If everything was working fine before, and nothing changed on either the
   calling or remote system, it sounds like there may be a problem somewhere
   on the phone lines between your modem and the modem you are calling that 
has
   recently cropped up. Are you seeing this problem when calling just one
   location?  If you could, please issue an AT-i3 to the OPTIMA and let us
   know what it returns.  This will show us exactly what version of the modem
   you have.
