24 Jun 15 00:51, you wrote to Alan Ianson:

mystic uses JAM (and currently SQUish) bases... the only problem is having
golded read mystic's message area definitions... it does work if one uses an
areas.bbs, though...

that's if one is downloading QWK packets... i think Alan is talking about raw
message bases he has that are managed by QWK networking transfers and not end
user QWK downloads...

QWK origin lines are different than FTN origin lines... something about the QWK
node's QWK name as the ID... QWK networks also used to have special routing
stuffs for private messages in the message areas instead of them having to be
private in netmail like FTN does...

KR> Yes. That can be defined by goldeds random system. The standard config
file
KR> for that is called goldrand.cfg. Don't get confused, it's more of a

KR> It uses group and endgroup statements to define configuration blocks.

 KR> # ORIGIN "Hyperspeed SCSI-Modem: 3,2MB/s"

KR> As far as i know USERNAME is a valid keyword for the random system too.

so when starting a message reply or original, there's no way to edit the From
name and From address?? i haven't tried but i'm a long time TimED user and all
we do there is to arrow UP or shift-TAB to move back through the fields and
select from the choice box that comes up...
