Hi Dan,
DL>> MC> good digital termometer and it was 76.3. The temp will slowly rise
s
DL>> MC> the basement warms up with the warmer weather.
DL>> Dont't you have a HEATER?
Of course I have a heater or all the fish would be dead.
I don't think the termostat is very good though. Not only that but it's
marginal for my 30 gal tank.
DL>>would not worry with a 3 or less degree change, but 74 is on
DL>>chilly side, also I prefer non digital and I keep Two in a tank in
DL>>different areas for comparision.
Since my last post, the Temp is 76.6 *steady*. The digital isn't a toy.
It's a scientific used in industry. I also have a floating mercury type.
The temp is consistant throughout the tank. Moving water.
DL>> MC> Oh...my water is in motion all the time. 2 bubblers and a good size
DL>> MC> filter take care of that.
DL>> Everyones tank is in motion, otherwise your

DL>> I suggest raising it to 79-80 which with
I'm practicly at 77 now with no fluctuation.
DL>> Look up the fish too and their Temp preferences,
DL>> write down their high-low and figure out a
DL>> "in-between" temp to use, I feel 74 is a bit low
DL>> for tropicals.
Mostly Tetras with a couple of Bobsmanny Rainbow. Nice fish!
Nice talking to you,
Marty.
