-=> On 08-01-96 11:43, Fred Runk said something about Have you read... to
der.......
Hello again, Fred...
FR> Definitely. Got some time now to do some reading and listening,
FR> without feeling guilty about "wasting" time that could be better spent.
Enjoy! It'll be the end of August before you know it!
DER> You obviously have brilliant powers of deduction! :)
FR> You noticed!! Sometimes I even beat out the detective in the novel!!
DER> Oh, Lordy! Sounds like I might have to add yet a few more titles to
DER> that ever growing list! The way that list is growing, if I intend to
DER> read them all before I die, I will probably have to give up BBS'ing!
DER> > What a GRUESOME thought!!
FR> Yes, Grimes now has over ten "Inspector Jury" novels out there, along
FR> with THE END OF THE PIER. There's another, SEND BYGRAVES, which is
FR> listed as poetry.
TEN! Good Grief!
FR> Grimes "schtick" is the local pub--all of her "Jury" novels center
FR> around a local pub or tavern (US). If I'm not mistaken, many of the
FR> titles of her novels refer to the pub in that novel.
Well, I gather she is an English authoress, so she isn't likely to run out
of titles!! :)
Sounds like something that would happen to Morse!
FR> Civil service--you know how that goes.
Hear the bennies are good though!
FR> Haven't read any of his yet--is Delaware a psychiatrist or
FR> psychologist? Was one of his novels made into a movie? I have a vague
FR> recollection of coming in at the end of a movie on TV that featured a
FR> psychiatrist involved in a series of murders.
A psychologist, primarily working with children. In his later novels,
he mostly works on court assigned cases. I don't recall having seen any
movies, but then again, I don't watch a lot of movies either!
DER> The second is Web of Smoke by Erin Grady. It was EXCELLENNT. I
FR> Never heard of the work or the author. That good, huh. Maybe will
FR> check it out.
I am going to have to check with the library to see if they have any
others written by her.
DER> ... Let sleeping cats lie.
FR> Goes without saying. One of the first lessons one learns from a cat
FR> who moves in.
Can you imagine how far one could go in this world if they were blessed
with the wiles and charms of a cat?
der
... ..It's always darkest just before you step on the cat.
