Are you saying that the modem is actually a 33.6? and you're connected at 
14.4...

it's not gonna do anything but help to turn on compression...  Try it and 
see..

No What's YOUR secret I ran at 2400 and I was lucky to get 235 - 240 cps...
 > BTW I  use Zmodem protocal.
You may find that YModem-G is a better protocol at higher speeds...
