The message from Stuart Dubois rises higher:
SD> I figured that the only single I'd see in
C>America from The Move would be "Do Ya."
SD> I dunno. The top 40 hit was ELO, I think. Or did we go through that
SD> discussion once already?
Both bands had a hit with it, but the one that was the biggest in the
States was ELO's much more polished version.
SD> Speaking of The Move, it just dawned on me that the lead singer on
SD> _Shazam_ is (duh) not Roy Wood. That's Carl Wayne, innit? I'm not
SD> sure why it took me most of 2 decades to get that one.
It's Wood on lead vocals on "Hello Susie," but Wayne sings lead on
everything else. I can't explain why it took you so long to figure that
out -- it's not like Wood and Wayne sound alike. I won't hold it
against you :-)
SD> Stuart
SD> NP: Caravan "In the Land of Grey and Pink"
C>Ah, I didn't know you had that. That song is one of my favorite of
C>theirs.
SD> I think I own the LP, but that song is on the Rhino thing.
Ah yes, and what an interesting collection that is. I wouldn't agree
with all that they included, but they do have the right idea about what
Prog is.
NP: "The Last Thing On My Mind" -- The Move
(Wood handles some backing vocals on this)
