RW> A stranger should *never* be able to do that. However, you should. As RW> you know, my two most recent are Rottweilers. ROxy, being a street Absolutely. Now in situation where a trainer or vet had to remove something from a dogs mouth for one reason or another, they do so by first winning the dogs trust and using distraction. You would just go manhandle the thing away from the dog. This reminds me of what trainers say. As much fun as it can be, never play tug of war with your dog unless you know you will win because if you lose puts your dog in the alph slot. Being the pack leader doesnt' mean we need to be MEAN, but we do need to let the dog know we are the leader. They expect us to be. Tug of war is for the litter mates. Besides if you ever played tug of war with say a English Bulldog pup.. they have very very strong jaws and wag their head as they would prey.. very strongly. They can do a number on your shoulder socket. The post about dogs enjoying their bones, by the way was meant as a happy observation of dogs being happy. That's al Cosmo and a previsod dog we had would actually swap their bones mid chew. It was cute. They got along so well.. never had a problem taking the bones away when necessary. But that is because I am their pack leader. I'd never expect anyone who doesn't know them to do that. On a walk one time somebody threw something out the window of their passing car. I look down and Patches had picked it up. A slice of pizza!!! I kid you not. I did take itway and he was fine by that. cindy ...
