Paul,

Just in case you missed my earlier reply to Noel, I should point out that
my native DOS partition also runs QEMM 7.02 as its memory manager, but I'm
using PC-DOS 5.0 instead of MS-DOS 6.22.  I haven't used Msged under DOS
for very long, but when I did, I could find no problem. Noel's posting of
the QEMM Exception error message may help point towards his problems
though.

Unfortunately it doesn't. I have played with it on three different
machines each running DOS 6.22 and it has exactly the same problem as the
previous version. You can select any message area and try to right arrow
(or left arrow) through the messages and the machine either locks up or I
get a QEMM exception error :-

Exception 6: Your computer has attempted to execute an invalid instruction
due to an error in one of your programs, a conflict between two programs,
or a conflict between a program and a hardware device.

This is not a QEMM error, but QEMM is reporting the error so you will
know what happened and so you can terminate your program. Without QEMM, your
system would have crashed without warning or explanation. It is likely
that the system is unstable now and should be rebooted.

You should write down the information below and see the QEMM manual's
troubleshooting section for information on resolving this problem. If
the suggestions in the QEMM manual do not help, please consult the publisher
of the program you were running when this error occurred.

         Exception #6 at 12C0:72DE, error code: 0000
         AX=4E84 BX=0000 CX=0007 DX=634D SI=05FE DI=0610 BP=FFFF

         Instruction: 63 61 80 00 00 00 E4 B2 00 00 74 00 36 35 31

Press T to (T)erminate the program or R to (R)eboot. If your system
does not respond, switch your machine off and on again.

It's very consistent - in fact it happens every time. :-(
