How's life Jasen On 10 Oct 03 21:18 you wrote something about *VEHICLE LED'S*... GM>>> And _ZERO_ moving parts. TK>> Thank god for that...no more wear and tear. :-) JB> you still yave a finite number of write cycles and "bit-rot" still JB> exists. That's true indeed....still a CD-RW is worse. When it comes down to ROM typed gadgets, compact cards would beat the CD every way. A simple audio CD could be manufactured in a ROM-chip in a compact card. A simple CD-R could be written in a PROM (one time burn). diode matrix (P)ROMs can be small and cheaply manufactured...it would be a perfect substitute for a CDR...with a longer lifespan too :-) Greetingzetcetera, Thom ... in de naam van de vader, de zoon, en de simpele geest... --- GoldED+/386 1.1.4.7* Origin: Point of The Snake (2:280/4312.3) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 280/4312 774/605 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
