Our weekly earthquake map shows the biggest earthquake this week on the
Calaveras fault (if you want to get out your road atlas and look, it runs
from Napa to Hollister), east and a little South of San Jose. Date: 5/21,
time 1:50 PM, magnitude 4.7. A respectable shake but nothing to be concerned
about, unless you happen to be right on top of it.
(There are thirty-eight quakes on this week's map, up from 31 last week --
the area covered is from just north of Sacramento to just south of Coalinga
and Parkfield.)
