The following was written by Leslie Fish for a novel in progress (well,
actually it seems to have gone past brickdom and straight into trilogyhood;
it's a big story) by Nicolai Shapero and George Cole. They needed a song used
as the signal to trigger a revolution; this is what Leslie came up with when we
asked her if she'd be willing to write one. I'd say it works... :-> Anyway,
she asked me to post it here so here it is. A copy has also been given to Lee
Gold for Xenofilkia, music and all...
God Bless Hate

chorus
God Bless Hate. There are some things worth hating.
Oh God bless death. There are some things worth killing.
For a thousand years we've argued what they are
'Til now, by God, I think we know.
I see the chained man breaking rocks while smug officials preach.
Whatever you want men to learn this is no way to teach.
The master's whips and orders make nothing worth the loss
Of nailing our humanity to someone else's cross.
chorus
I tell you this is evil, and it's older than the hills u
Forget your vices of the flesh; this is the sin that kills.
For shade of skin, or name of god or any cheap excuse,
You make your slaves by any name and let the demon loose.
chorus
Don't tell me this is done for love. Who do you think you fool?
It's just the dirty love for power, love for your own rule.
Honest hate is cleaner; it burns away your lies.
And leaves you naked to the flames of blazing crimson skies!
