The real pisser is that the state DOJ has been keeping firearm sales records for about 10 years. Once you're on that roll, or you register one of the assault weapons on their list, you're subject to searches for other weapons, anytime they feel like it. I couldn't get over the fact that if there was no place for you to sit in a bar, you weren't served. DB> My kid lives in Idaho, where they have the finest hunting laws, and DB> even there, the CCW permits are harder to come by then here. LOL! I have two daughters, one who lives in Florida and one who lives in Texas. What a waste! Neither one of them likes firearms, let alone have a 'will issue' carry permit. DB> Anyway, Colt is a fine firearm, but OTOH, there's lots of good guns DB> out there that can also fill the spot of a true 1911. I like mine. It came to me via a Colt Python deal I couldn't refuse. I bought the Python from a fellow worker and we were laid off a week later. I hadn't paid him the full amount and still owed him $200. He had my phone number and address, but I never heard from him again. I wasn't too overly thrilled with the Python, so I put it up for sale on consignment at a gunshop. When it sold, I put the money toward my Colt 1911A1 and was happy ever after. DB> Sometimes, it's impracticle to carry a full size gun. I have some DB> Makarov's that fill this bill pretty good. Mak is a great gun, DB> between the 9P and a .380. I have two .380s that I like to carry. They're a whole lot lighter than the 1911. DB> My wife's cz-83 is an excellent carry gun in .380, and we both have DB> .32 pocket guns as backups. I have a Colt pocket pistol with aluminum frame and slide in .380. It's a really nice and light carry gun. Shaped and works like the 1911. DB> I know that .32's are crapped on, but I'd rather have a mouse gun DB> than my fists at my age. :) Mine's a Kel Tec p-32, hers is a Beretta DB> Tomcat. I've seen a .25 scare off a potential rapist. He turned white as a sheet when the gal shoved it under his nose...
