TSC has a big warehouse operation just outside of Lincoln, NE, and
several stores in the area.  There are two that I know of in the Omaha
metro area (one is practically downtown and I don't see how it survives -
most rural folk HATE to go to the big city and don't unless they HAVE to;
the other is on the southern edge of Council Bluffs, IA).  Most of the
small towns (5-10K pop) around here have an Orscheln store; in my 
general area, Red Oak, Shenandoah and Clarinda, IA, and Nebraska City,
NE, all have Orscheln stores (so does Lincoln, NE, but that's 90 miles
or so away, and that one is in what usedtawas a big K-Mart).

I am unaware of any farm supply chain stores in this area vanishing and
later reappearing.

I have been told that that aforementioned TSC warehouse gives away bags
of dog food that have been broken open.  Unfortunately I'm never over there
when the place is open to find out for sure...
