| subject: | Hungarian Vizsla |
Finally spelled it right ! the other day in our apt complex loop I saw a Hungarian Vizsla. Looked JUST like the one my family had so long ago. We had adopted him as a puppy from a breeder in Rochester, NY. The breeder had said breed is rare. But that was (oh my).. um.. 40 some years ago. (Yikes!) Gus was his name. He ran like the wind, up the hill and hunted up there in the woods to his hearts content! :) They are a beautiful dog. Golden/short haired.. lean and fast. Friendly fun.. and very easy to spoil. One thing I noted on the Vizsla I saw recently which reminded me so much of Gus was how when the hackles go up (when their attention is aroused)- you really Notice it. The way you do when you brush up a short napped fabric the 'wrong way'.. but that's their pointer hunter instinct.. all dogs do that but it's very pronounced with this breed. here's one of many a website on this breed: http://www.dogbiz.com/dogs-grp1/vizsla/vizsla.htm Cind --- PPoint 3.01* Origin: Up a palm tree (1:3828/7.2) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 53/558 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 SEEN-BY: 2905/0 @PATH: 3828/7 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
