It happens here as well, with apple and orange juice. Most of the
stuff seems to be coming from Argentina. And our growers are not
happy either. We also tend to get Californian Navel oranges in
the shops that are cheaper than the local Valencias... although
to be honest, in respect to fresh oranges the market has taken a
swing back towards local stuff this year. But a couple of years
ago, growers up the Murray were dumping oranges in landfill as
the price at the markets and the juice works was less than the
trucking cost. How can that be?
