And I copy the main thumb drive to a TR> `backup' thumb drive every so often just in case. My obsession with good backups started at a young age. Around 14 years old when I had put off buying one of those "tape backup drives" because I didn't want to spend the $300 or so for it at the time. After I had my first incident when I lost many source code mods I wrote, I would have play three times that to have not lost that data. Needless to say, I ordered the backup drive the next day - but the damage had been done. Back when I had screwed up the partition on my RAID5 array (21TB), I almost had a heart attack but was able to recover the partition. I went out and bought several 6TB drives to use as temporary storage for all "future partition work". I don't back everything up, but what doesn't get backed up is at least a RAID-5 array. It isn't easy being a data hoarder.. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.51* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 203/0 633/267 280 640/384 1384 690/682 712/620 848 770/1 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 123/500 154/10 203/0 640/384 712/848 633/267 |
