-> Seems to me that the crime in question was outside US jurisdiction, -> and that trial here would also constitute double or triple jeopardy, -> given the acquittal(s) in Venezuela. I'd have thought Bob would be -> against double/triple jeopardy. Bob even stumbled across some google hits that had names of international agreements and conventions on such matters. He tossed the names in without having any clue as to what they said. As I already pointed out to him several days ago, those agreements discuss that very matter of jurisdiction! And one states the obvious fact that a second country should not try anyone for a crime they were acquitted of by another country! He has fallen quite silent on the matter, but tries to cover it by shouting his other nonsense a little louder. --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 10* Origin: (1:226/600) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 226/0 SEEN-BY: 236/150 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1417 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 SEEN-BY: 2320/200 2905/0 @PATH: 226/600 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
