yeah, but some makers install a thermal voltmeter (based on a bimetalic
strip) their response time is too slow to be useful, and I question their
accuracy especially in extreme environments.

a moving coil fuel gague can be handy too - when the tank's getting low you
can "see" the fuel sloshing round :)

Otoh electronic ammeters can be installed using the batteries earth cable
as a shunt...
