Amstrad used them in it's > word processor. I've never come across another use of them though... I don't know if it's the same ones, but I remember seeing some less than 3.5" floppies on some electronic musical instruments in the mid to late 1980's. Also, I recall reading about some that were used on some Japanese made personal computers that stirred up some fuss but still failed to catch on in the US around that time. (I think these had an OS called MSX, or maybe that was a hardware compatibility spec, or maybe something else entirely. It's been a long time.) I never saw one of those live though.
