Or a switch to a better OS that Microsoft doesn't support. OpenOffice is
just as easy to use and has everything MS Office has (that any normal
office worker would need) other than the price.

OpenOffice has been able to open and print every .doc file I've received
  this year.

What is there to get over? If someone wants to pay Microsoft for something
they could get for free that is their loss, not mine.

I think anyone who hasn't tried OpenOffice will be impressed when they do try it.
