Ha! Presumably direct-mail sellers would have someone else (so-called
professional) prepare the mailer for printing out-of-state and mailing from
who-knows-where. I am sure direct mailing works for particular types of
sellers (bee-removal in early to mid summer; chimney sweeping in late
summer/early fall; etc.) but not for others (OB/GYN around Christmas, etc.)
But you are right. The quality of some of the advertising (direct or
otherwise) really makes one wonder who is paying whom and for what.
