But what does the Bible have to say about Tongues.  I won't interpet it
for you.  Just read the Written Word. It is pretty straight forward.
1 Cor 14: 1-16  I quoted it below for you.

1 Cor 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophes
           edifies the church. (NIV)
1 Cor 14:9 So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with y
           tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will ju
           speaking into the air. (NIV)
1 Cor 14:13 For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray th
            may interpret what he says. (NIV)
1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is
            unfruitful. (NIV)
The tongue is the most unrulely part of your body.  I just did a scan on
tongue in bible and there are 40 plus ref. to it as being a unruley
member and getting one into trouble.  When one is filled with the Holy
Ghost in all except one ref. in the bible of being field with
the Holy Spirit the first evidence was speaking in tongues.
I will say the devil sure likes to make one doubt just as he did you in
the above paragraph.  I have seen flesh speak in tongues and I have seen
the Holy Spirit enable as well.  Tonges is for the one doing the
speaking.  Interpetation is what edifies the Church.
It is in the Bible.  It is real.  It is for today.
