Oh, definitely yes. Unless one is seeking the ultimate in resonant cheese it
doesn't do very well on its own. Some chorusing can work wonders though.

Yes, actually I was meaning to inform you that there is 6-voice stereo SID
editing software with optional MIDI modules which will allow you to drive an
external instrument (thus bypassing the 8-bit SID chip while keeping the
music intact) with the C64 using more than 4 channels. You had said that
your software was limited to only 4. My point was that such a limitation was
most likely software based and not hardware based. It doesn't matter really
though. 'Tain't no big thang.
