SB*I think that they just needed an "Evinrude" / "Johnson" style product
  *line.  With Evy's being the appearant cheaper model out of the Johnson
  *plant, it gave people an opportunity to buy something a little cheaper
  *and keep the Johnson manufacturing tag.  I believe this is Merc's
  *intention with Force.  Don't be confused...I won't be caught driving a
  *Johnson product...Just personal preference..I'm a Merc man all the way!
I can't buy that either. Mercury has Mariner.... for it's  cheaper 
model  but a Mariner is just as good as a Mercury just cheaper and a 
different  color.
