Hey, now Hold On, guys, Hold On... You're building Star Destroyers from
Jawa junk here... This is All speculation and can change at the drop of
a restraining bolt... I've always heard it as GL saying he wanted 9
films total (or 3 trilogies of 3)... Naturally he'll take this One step
at a time and by that meaning he'll do the first 3 films and see how
they come out... With 6 films in the bank Then he'd probably take on the
final 3 if there's a demand for them and if the 6 films tie together...
Throw off Every book? How so? Listen... Do you think it's something of
just a coincidence that the novels strentch into the future of the films
by only a couple decades? They cutoff Before 30 years if I'm not
mistaken... Now let's put 2 and 2 together now shall we? Assuming all
goes well, the three prequels will be out in the early 2000s...
Production will then start on the remaining three episodes (in
theory)... Each trilogy of 3 films is set Rougly a generation apart...
The last three will therefore be some 25 years after the middle trilogy
which, coincidentally I think Not, is 25 years in Real Time for the
original Star Wars actors... Should they reprise their roles they will
be playing their characters at their true, real life, ages... And
assuming the timeline isn't moved up for the novels, Episodes 7, 8, and
9 will chronologically come After the novel series...
I think this is a Great idea (I hope I'm right!)... Logically you see,
the last three films in the third trilogy will Merge and Unify the
characters and events presented in the first two trilogies... So some
New characters introduced in the first couple movies could conceivably
meet up with our classic characters in these final films...
