DAVID WILLIAMS wrote in a message to Roger Nelson: DW> I wish the changes could be made gradual, so the sun would rise at DW> 6 a.m. every day, and sunset might be as early as 3 p.m. or as DW> late as 10 p.m., depending on the time of year. But there would be DW> lots of practical problems... Sunshine from 06:00 to 22:00 all year long would be a bit much for us down here. We'd cook. (-: But, as you said, certain times of the yeat. Politics seem to remain the same no mater what the countryside looks like. -> I'll have to contact my friends up in the Yukon Territory and see -> what time they are observing now. My radio controlled clock reset itself back to CST at 02:00 this morning! DW> They'll be on Pacific Daylight Time, I think. Yeah, but I'm about due to write them anyway. And it DW> actually had a noticeable effect on traffic. There were fewer cars DW> on the roads, especially on weekends. Now, the refinery has been DW> fixed and prices have dropped a bit, but are still about a buck a DW> litre. That's Canadian bucks, of course. About 85 cents, U.S.. And DW> there are about 3.8 litres to a U.S. gallon. I guess you can do DW> the comparison! I was watching The O'Reilly Factor on the FOX News channel last night and there was a guest on who stated that the reason gas prices are so high right now is because some refineries are down for maintenance. (Tongue-in-cheek) The oil companies don't want to invest their obscene profit margin in something that is winding down. And who can blame them? Still, it's no reason to stick it to the consumer.
