JB> 10. Hot plug-and-play
Plain ol' plug and play would suit me fine. X won't even start on my new
box using the included nv, vesa, vga, etc. drivers (I have to download new
drivers). There really is no excuse for X not to start in at least 640x480
using VESA (that's got to be at least a decade old by now).
Same deal with my NIC. Have to add 5 lines worth of DEFs to the 3c59x.c
driver, recompile, modprobe, and poof. Network. Why does it need to
specifically know about my device when it's perfectly compatible with the
driver otherwise? Haven't they ever heard of "generic" drivers?
