CP> I am new to Qedit. Is there a cut and paste option? I found the
CP> copy option but how about CUT?
Absolutely! I'm not sure what version of Qedit you are using or
if you are using some modified configuration. Here I am using
2.1x and a custom configuration so giving my "quick keys" will
 not help you.

The key concept is to understand Qedit's use of "blocks". You
can mark blocks in a variety of ways which you can read about in
the documentation. Once you have a block marked you can do many
things with it. You can copy, move, cut and paste it. These
actions all use information Qedit stores in s "scrap" buffer
when you invoke them. In addition you can cause it to be stored
in a "scratch" buffer with a name you specify for later
retrieval. That's handy for macros where you might want to grab
a "set" of things from one place in a file and assemble them
together in another location or file.

Among its many desirable feature Qedit is written so it honours
many of the old "WordStar" word processor commands. WS
represents a sort of lowest common denominator for editors on
the PC since it was an early popular word processor and it was
originally written for machines with only a QWERTY keyboard with
no extra keys like the function keys. Its command set was all
implemented using control keys in combination with letters. They
are a bit cryptic but a surprising number of more modeern text
editors homour them which is a bonus. Anyway here are some
simple WS key combinations to do your actions. Remember your
version of Q will undoubtedly have many of these set to either
the default Qedit configuration or some one you have customized
but while you are learning those these may help you out ;-)

In what follows "^" means press the "Ctrl" key and hold it while
pressing the next key then release the "Ctrl" key.

^KB - mark beginning of block ^KK - Mark end of block
^KC - Copy marked block ^KV - Move current block
^KY - Delete (cut) marked block ^KI - Insert (Paste) prev cut
^KW - Write marked block to file ^KR - Read a file into this one
   ^KH - Unmark the block
