Frank, at 22:10 on May 24 1995, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> True, but it also proves that I don't use a spelling-checker. FM> No it doesn't. BG> Sorry, I meant to type "grammar-syntax-context-spelling-checker", BG> but was initially too lazy to do so. I wish I had now... FM> Too late! You can't get away that easily. (But if you find one of FM> those, I *want* one! My immediate reaction was going to be "you'd be lucky", but such an app would likely be possible, albeit positively immense in size (and probably incredibly slow to run, due to the vast amount of cross-checking involved). However, there is still no substitute for having learned correct grammar, syntax etc at school, and as far as poor spelling is concerned, I'd rather keep my comments to myself, lest I offend others. Take RTL for example (please!), he professes to be a programmer, yet his spelling is so atrocious, that I can't imagine any of his programs ever compiling or running correctly. As an aside, Brisbane City Council held their annual school spelling bee last week, and it did not surprise me in the least that it was won by a 12 year old Vietnamese boy. Why do Asians do so well in our educational institutions? The only explanation I can offer is that their attitudes towards learning are far more intense than ours, which is very much in keeping with my own observation that the majority of local school kids are simply lazy little shits.
