On 05-29-09, BOB ACKLEY said to JOHN MASSEY: BA>Replying to a message of John Massey to Ross Cassell: RC>> Couple Ordered to Stop Holding Bible Study at Home Without Permit RC>> Thursday , May 28, 2009 RC>> Pastor David Jones and his wife Mary have been told that they cannot RC>> invite friends to their San Diego, Calif. home for a bible study RC>> unless they are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to San RC>> Diego County. Well, it turns out there's a lot more to the story than was first claimed. If anyone had bothered to look past the first source, instead of just demonizing Fox News, they'd have found out a little more. It seems that there was some damage to a neighbors car, around $200 or so, which (now get this) David Jones paid for! And its true that sometimes as many as 20 people come to their weekly bible study. Even so.....some busy-body neighbor complained to the county code office. Now this all happened in a rural area of San Diego county, a place called Bonita. (Being in Bonita is like being out on the desert!) Anyway......instead of Ceppa (sick) and his propagandist friend `factual'-Dave Drum, hyperventilating over it, a little further checking would have shown that the county, confronted with Religious Freedom issues in court (not to mention a flood of complaints from hundreds of people over it), withdrew their insistance on any type of permit. JM> Well it's like Obama said the other day while referring to the BOR, JM> "It's just a God Damn piece of paper." BA>Source, John? That exact quote is attributed to Bush minor and the person BA>who publicized it claims to have three different sources for it. Thats the whole problem with that stupid attribution to GW Bush; lots of *claimed* sources for it.....but lets see some names! NAMES! NOT CLAIMS! By the way....over the years the minister of our church held gatherings just like that at his house also. Never a complaint. My employer also holds gatherings here on their patio (a very large affair around their swimming pool, which I helped build about fifteen years ago), at which vast amounts of food is served. I typically deep fry two or three turkey's for the Thanksgiving gathering alone, and end up having to carve about five or six turkey's in a row. No problems with food inspectors, or health officials so far in almost 18 years of doing this. Let you know if any show up this year. --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
