Samsung was another good one for using those connection spring strips.

A craft store would be JUST the ticket. And then it could be
made of copper, which I'm sure would give a better connection.
(not as good as gold, but 'vat-da-hey'...)

If I do it 'right' I think I can make it fairly simple,
just going to need to be REAL careful about the drilling.

That's something I hadn't thought of! Are you talking
about 'alligator' clips ? The larger variety ? They could
probably be just clipped over the metal part of the shield that
surrounds the madular plug. Is that what you had in mind ?

Glad the graphics came through OK - my ASCII art stinks!
Hadn't thought about that, but don't you think that with enough spring
tension on the contacts (strips) against the inside 'side' of the jack, they
would stay away from the OEM contacts ? I haven't pulled one of the 3C
cards out to look, but the jacks in the SMC cards have a 'channel' going down
each side (on the inside) about 1/8" wide that MIGHT accomodate the strips.
I don't see any surface (ie ridge) on the plug that mates with this.
Sincerely,
