subject: FOXPRO ADVISOR ISSUE

Hi Bong,
You said a "new programmer", one new to FP5, 1 new to FoxPro period, or
someone new to programming altogether? October, 1996 was the "New &
Improved" FPW 5 issue of the Advisor, it was aimed at those already
familiar with using FPW 3.0x. The 1996 CD might be a good place to finish.
I suggest (especially for a FoxPro beginner) the best place to start is
RTFM (Read The Fine Manual), then read what you did not get, again. The
FoxPro manuals that you already paid for, are quite well done. Also read
the READMEs and other text/information files on the disks, they are very
helpful too. Try searching the online help for keywords or synonyms, that
you have questions about, if none found, then lookup in the Master Index.
Then you will have a much better idea of what you wish to look for in a
3rd party book. Now grab the CD, if you think you still need it.
Never seen a "FAQ" for any FoxPro version. If you mean the KBase files,
they are over 1000 times to large to fit in a message.
We have confused you, YES You CAN, FP5 is meant to run in Windows95
and should work with W97/98. It will not run on MS-DOS or versions of
Windows Before 4.00/Windows95.
Some of the finest help is in this Echo,
                                den
P. S. ( Thank You for the kind note via NetMail, You are most welcome.)
Pp. S. (I agree with what Cy said, that FP2 had the best/most complete
manuals, they seem to be getting less comprehensive ever since.)
