subject: Time problems

-> Synthetic Time is being issued on partition "TEST_TREE."
-> Please help me to turn it off.
Synthetic time occurs whenever the system time is BEFORE the latest time
stamp in NDS. This usually occurs when someone makes a time adjustment
backwards.
One solution is to bring down the test server completely until after the
latest time stamp, restart the machine, setting the correct time at DOS, then
REBOOTING to make sure the time is read from the system and not just DOS
before going back into NW 4.x.
Synthetic time will EVENTUALLY catch up with the time stamps, but few
administrators have the patience for that.
