Hello Thom.
Not trying to be antagonistic here Thom. But what real purpose is
there for you to have a listing in the nodelist in your capacity
as echolist manager if nodes within Fidonet can not use that entry
to contact you on echolist matters? To those that are not privy to
the actual phone (If any) associated with that listing that listing
is rather useless. Not everyone has or chooses to use email for their
submissions or updates.
I know that you would prefer not to deal with the crap from Fidonet
people and that Fidonet matters are rather low on your list of priorities.
But IF you are going to be maintaining the echolist. And since netmail is
still the primary (Not necessarally the most used) form of communication
used in Fidonet. It would only seem logical and prudent that one would be
available as echolist manager using those forms of communications that the
network primarily uses. Your attitude seems to suggest that you wish to
manage a echolist for a network but choose to avoid as much contact with
the members of that network as possible. I know of some of your history
with some members (Both present and past) of Fidonet and the frustration
and resentment that has resulted. But your choice to be unavailable via
the nodelist primarily (I would think) affects those that simply wish to
use your echolist. In essense you are killing people's use for and interest
in your echolist.
