* EleBBS Support List Hi Marty, > I'll try not to get this too off-topic, but Drew what do you use to backup > to a hdd with? Will it go across a network drive? A simple solution would be to use the XCOPY command, which is part of Windows (and DOS). Use the /s parameter to include subdirectories. Type "xcopy /?" for a list of all the parameters. Another solution would be to simply ZIP your BBS folder up each night. Either way, you could use a batch file utility called xset to create an environment variable containing the current date, so that each backup directory (or .zip) has a unique name related to the backup date. More info and example batch files can be found here: http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ak621/DOS/Bat-Adv2.html Regards, Mike _______________________________________________________________ --- Internet Rex 2.29* Origin: The gateway at The Snake (2:280/4312.101) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 280/4312 774/605 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
