Confusious say, daily backups recommended, or sysop insanity will develop.

I run nightly backup. I keep 10 days of backups. less then $100 for an
extra 80gb hdd. that will hold dozens of backups for your critical
files. Then Burn a CD/DVD once a month for disaster recovery.

or a tape drive, or offsite backup. lots of backup systems out there.
You can get aw few gigs (enought for a bbs backup) for little or
nothing.
