Stomper should handle your modem off the server situation. (shareware)
Put modem on fileserver
InterMail works with Stomper and allow Upload/download file transfer.
Put InterMail on a workstation
You can FREQ stomper from 1:3609/60 Filename: STPE321.ZIP
Should work just fine.
