40 years ago, it was "It's good news week, someone's dropped a bomb
somewhere..." ... the news is on in the background; US forces investigating
a bomb blast (in Iraq?), another bird flu case in Turkey, Hamas up to
something, floodwaters in Western Australia, Tamil troubles in Sri Lanka.

Not a lot of "good news" among that lot, except perhaps the safe
return of a
NASA probe.
