:-)   Sergers are great (and faaaast!)  You can certainly use them to put 
together most quilt blocks.  Mine is a basic model; it's been a real 
workhorse for several years now, but I have days when I'd like to trade up to 
one of the models that have different feet and do more things.  :-)
