The series is based on the movie, obviously. Significant changes
were made to the O'Neill character, becaues it's difficult to
sustain an ongoing show with the main character wanting to commit
suicide (plus, Richard Dean Answerson refused to play such a
depressing character).
Marks just being pissy because the guy who produced the movie
didn't keep the TV rights, and didn't much like the TV show.
