SK>-> I just purchased a SupraFax 28.8 Ext via the sysop plan. It's workin
SK>-> great, but I am perplexed why my screen saver in Intermail keeps gett
SK>-> activated. It's as though the modem is "checking in" every 30 secs.
SK>-> so. This is my first EXTERNAL modem. Is this a normal thing?

SK>What do you mean "checking in"? I have an external SupraFAXModem 14.4
SK>and have never experienced anything like that. Perhaps it is your init
SK>string. Try AT&F2M0 or just AT&F2. What BBS software are you using? If
SK>its WILDCAT! try AT &F2 E0 V1 S95=35.
That's pretty much my init string with a W2 thrown in for init string
#1. Init. strings 2 and 3 are there for my setup with BGFAX. Hmm.
That's new to my setup - one of the main reasons I went with the Supra
(for it's adaptive answer capability). Just for grins I'll try removing
init strings 2 & 3 and see if that makes a difference. It really
doesn't affect my operations here but it certainly is a curiosity since
this did =NOT occur with my internal USR 14.4 Sportster.
