Ecotopia?  Nope.  Read a very interesting book (kind of non-fiction) back
in High School called "The Nine Nations of North America" which
divided up the continent by cultural similarities and Northern California,
Oregon, Washington, B.C., and Southern Ala

Close enough. If you've read _Ecotopia_, northern California,
Oregon, and Washington have all seceded to form the new
country--so if it's in that book, I suppose it fits!
