I had posted some questions in a couple of the Linux echos about a month
ago and just got a reply. And very little other traffic in the echo.

That was my point Mark. I do not want to create a digital image (IE,ISO). I
simply wish to burn a "copy" of a particular directory tree to a
DVD. The  current tree is about 3.4GB. The DVD would be as easily readable
as the HDD was.
