Hello Maurice,

AI>> What telnet client is he using?

Ug, I just did a telnet session on Win98 with the defualt telnet client. Nasty!

 AI>> I use mini telnet, a small & fast
AI>> ansi telnet client but it only supports zmodem.

MK> Then it won't work since this is strictly tcpip networking. No dial

This one is a tcpip app. It looks just like the linux telnet setup with
zmodem support. Quite a nice freeware term for OS/2 or Win32. He can get
mtel12b.zip from http://ozone.eesc.com, it's the first link on that page.

 AI>> If he's using
AI>> HyperTerm it's a good idea to install the fonts from the

MK> Will Hyperterm use tcpip at his end? If so that might be the way to

MK> what he has. If not then we'll carry on with what we have until he

Yep, Hyperterm is both dialup and tcpip. It a full blown win32 gui term. It
can be found at ftp.hilgraeve.com in the htpe directory as htpe63.exe.
There are also fonts for HTPE in the /pub/vendor/hilgraeve directory as
hyprfont.zip. Those fonts work better than the default font for rendering
BBSs high ascii/ansi in my experience but I guess it depends on what fonts
he has installed, HMMV. HTPE is free for non-commercial home use.

MK> Anyhow this was too easy to setup at this end. Looks really good from
 MK> this angle.

Yep, I'm working on my setup as well.. :)

 Ttyl :-),
